Speaking and Training

‘After Dinner’

Stuart has been speaking at events for over 20 years and brings many of his professional, rugby and broadcasting experiences to the fore during his very entertaining after-dinner engagements.

He is also an accomplished event host and master of ceremonies, capable of adapting his style to the most diverse of subjects, audiences and occasions.

Business Training and Support

Stuart delivers sessions on the parallels between business and sport, drawing on how his experiences during 14 years of playing rugby at elite level shaped his own approach in key areas such as leadership, management, motivation and team dynamics.

He explores the behaviours of high performing teams and the founding principles on which success is based, underpinning his delivery with humorous and interesting real life anecdotes that might help shape or challenge behaviours in your company, just as they did his.

Some of this was touched upon in a blog reflecting on his first cap memories.

For a while I’ve thought that business people, and entrepreneurs in particular, could learn from elite sport.  After all, starting, growing and sustaining a business is tough, and finding a competitive edge makes a difference.  So, I wanted someone who has spanned elite sport and business to provide some useful insights on the parallels that exist between the two worlds. I approached ex Welsh Rugby International and former Dragons CEO, Stuart Davies.

He came up trumps, providing a brilliantly insightful webinar on the similarities and cross-over in areas such as team management, goal setting, reaching peak performance and the motivational aspects of elite sport. I was impacted and moved by the range of techniques that coaches and players adopt to win and deal with adversity.  These approaches are hugely valuable to us all in our business life, and are not found in management books or on MBA courses. I would readily recommend Stuart to any business seeking to ‘health check’ or explore their approach to leadership, management and many other associated areas.
